ATR The Mat

The leather plate mat
Up close sound tuning
The common felt mats allow gentle contact between plate and plate, but have problems with electrostatic charge. This can lead to the accumulation of dust on the mat and record, Also the damping effect is limited, which can be problematic, especially with turntables made of metal. Thick rubber mats usually dampen too much here and additionally prevent the discharge of electrostatic charges from the panel, which leads to audibly more crackling and popping.
Leather is a very interesting alternative.
It dampens resonances better than felt, does not attract additional dust and can dissipate electrostatic charges. A very cost effective method to improve sound quality and reduce background noise caused by dust and electrostatic charge.
Attention: The Mat is suitable for all turntables except the Pro-ject Debut III and the Pro-Ject Juke Box
