Arcam RPAC
We’re all playing more and more music from computers – stored on hard drives or streamed from online services like Spotify – but Macs and PCs just aren’t optimized for audio enjoyment.
The rPAC is a pocket-sized solution. It features high-quality hardware and software technology specifically designed to enhance your laptop or desktop sound. From low-bitrate Internet radio to better-than-CD quality downloads, you’ll hear more of the music you love.
And it’s not just about music: rPAC can enhance your entire entertainment experience on the computer, from games and movies to catch-up TV services like BBC iPlayer and Sky Go.
Simply connect the rPAC to your computer (Windows XP, 7, or Mac OSX – please note that Linux is not supported by the rPAC) using the included USB cable, and then to an audio system or headphones using either a standard RCA cable (also included). Those who prefer the latter will be well served by the rPAC, which features a high-quality headphone amplifier with volume control.
It’s as simple as that. No batteries or power supply required. We even include a carrying case to help you on your way to better sound – anywhere.
Utilizing a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) normally found in very high-end hi-fi components and Arcam’s world-class audio circuitry, the rPAC converts audio files stored on a MAC or PC into beautiful music with stunning clarity and precision. Thanks to the USB power supply, no wall adapter is needed, and thanks to the choice between line level output and headphone jack, you can share the music enjoyment with friends or keep it all to yourself!
The rPAC fits unobtrusively next to any desktop or laptop computer and is constructed of a rugged, precision-molded aluminum enclosure. Designed for all music lovers, it is ideal for home, office or on the go.
