The original DragonFly
Launched in 2012, AudioQuest’s USB digital-to-analog converter/preamplifier/headphone amplifier, the multi-award-winning DragonFly, has been enthusiastically received by press and public alike, and hailed as one of the few audio products that bridges the gap between die-hard audiophiles and mainstream music listeners.
The DragonFly plugs into a computer’s USB jack to bypass the computer’s inadequate audio circuitry and deliver clearer, more transparent, more natural sound to headphones, active Speaker, or complete audio systems.
Small, affordable, easy to use and remarkably effective, the DragonFly was recognized by Stereophile 2012 Computer Audio Component of the Year and 2012 Budget Component of the Year, by Tone Audio 2012 Digital Product of the Year, by Computer Audiophile 2012 Computer Audiophile Product of the Year, by AudioStream Greatest Bits and by What Hi-Fi 2014 Product of the Year.
Perhaps most notable was John Darko’s statement on DigitalAudioReview.net: A DAC with the performance of the DragonFly for the price of the DragonFly is as rare as horse droppings from a rocking horse.
We could not have expressed that more beautifully.
The next generation: DragonFly Black & DragonFly Red
While the original DragonFly redefined the market for micro DACs, it was only compatible with computers due to its power consumption. Music lovers wanted a portable version one that can be easily used with Apple and Android smartphones as well as tablets.
We are delighted to now present two new alternatives that do just that: DragonFly Black and DragonFly Red.
Comfort and performance are no longer mutually exclusive. With DragonFly Black and Red, any computer or laptop, tablet or smartphone can be used as a true Hi-Fi music player, allowing music lovers to enjoy beautiful sound wherever you are, whenever you want.
