Sennheiser HDV 820
The perfect partner for reference class headphones
The pursuit of perfection is characterized by two features in particular: It never ends, and it can give rise to extraordinary, forward-looking ideas. So the HDV 820 will most certainly change the way you think about how you listen to and experience music. Provided you have headphones capable of transforming the HDV 820’s extremely high-quality audio signal into equally great sound quality.
Develop the best
When you’ve developed audio components that represent the highest state of the art, it’s a particularly appealing challenge to outdo yourself. To master them, Sennheiser has moved into new technological areas with the HDV 820, and in doing so, has once again come a bit closer to the tonaltruth.
The sound: great headphones can show all your class
Virtually everything – that’s what the HDV 820 passes on to the headphones. The different timbres of two otherwise identical instruments. The space between the individual musicians of an orchestra, the tension before a singer sings the first note. With the appropriate headphones, there is all this to discover anew.
The technology: Unsurpassed
The higher the technical standard, the greater the emotion. At the heart of the new HDV 820 is the superior ESS SABRE32 DAC (digital-to-analog converter), which eclipses the previous generation with an even higher resolution of 32 bits and a sampling rate of up to 384 kHz. The integrated amp also processes DSD256 files at up to 12.3 MHz.
The design: The eye guesses how good the sound must be
Fitting for an audio component that provides such a pristine sound experience, the HDV 820 is also a visual delight. Its black anodized finish with white LEDs harmonizes particularly well with the look of our HD 800 S high-end headphones – the ideal partner for rousing audiophile listening sessions, by the way.
The compatibility: Superior sound always finds a way
With its wide range of audio outputs including XLR3, XLR4, 6.3 mm as well as 4.4 mm Pentaconn jacks ? the HDV 820 makes it easy for you to establish the optimal connection to your headphones. It plays great with digital sources, whether via fiber optic, coaxial cable, or USB. The HDV 820 has balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog inputs and comes with a dedicated, country-specific power cord.
