AUTHENTIC DALI SOUND

DALI’s IO headphones are developed in Denmark and are tonally tuned exactly as you are already used to from other DALI products. And that makes our headphones absolutely unique!

A driver specially manufactured for DALI with a particularly large 50 mm paper fiber diaphragm produces an extremely natural and transparent sound image with the lowest distortion and coloration.

EXCELLENT WEARING COMFORT

The ear cushions of the DALI IO headphones are made of memory foam, which precisely adapts to the head so that the earcups fit well, do not press and optimally keep outside noise out.

The upholstery is covered with soft faux leather, which not only feels extremely good, but also provides many years of reliable service.

LONG BATTERY LIFE

The IO-6 offers a benchmark battery life of 30 hours, allowing it to be used for days without recharging.

And if the battery does run out, the headphones can simply be operated in passive “off” mode via the included jack cable – or recharged to 100% within two hours via a USB-C jack.

VERSATILE CONNECTIONS

For wireless operation, DALI’s IO headphones support Bluetooth aptX, aptX HD and Apple’s AAC. The best playback quality is provided by the USB-C port for digital audio streaming from Windows or Mac computers.

If the battery is empty or Bluetooth is not desired, the IOs can also be controlled via a classic analog mini-jack.

DESCRIPTION

After 35 years in the Speaker, DALI’s first wireless over-ear headphones made their debut at IFA 2019 in Berlin. The difference between the IO-4 and IO-6 models is that the IO-6 also has integrated active noise cancellation.

The IO-6 can be controlled via smartphones, tablets, PCs or TVs using Bluetooth® 5.0 and also supports the high-resolution codecs aptX® HD and AAC. The latter is required for optimal sound quality in connection with all Apple devices.

Drivers with 50 mm paper fiber cones and optimized neodymium magnet systems ensure the typical DALI sound with low distortion, minimal coloration and pronounced fine dynamics.

The most important functions of the headphones are controlled by three controls: the DALI logo on the right ear cup acts as a multi-function button for play, pause, skip forward/backward, answer call and hang up, the volume is adjusted with a light press on the upper or lower part of the ring surrounding the logo. Clear Voice Communication” (CVC) ensures optimal voice quality for calls made via the headphones’ speakerphone, while the soft cushions completely enclose the ears and effectively block out ambient noise.

To be able to enjoy music or audio books in the train or on the plane absolutely undisturbed, the DALI IO-6 has an extraordinarily effective electronic noise cancellation (ANC). Instead of being completely to yourself, you can also select a mode called “Transparency,” which allows outside noise to pass through at a certain level.

The battery life of the IO-6 headphones is up to 30 hours with noise cancellation activated. Of course, the earpieces can also be used without battery support with the included cable if required.

With over 35 years of experience in developing high-quality DALI Speaker, we decided to apply our passion for music and our expertise for excellent sound quality to the development of wireless headphones as well.

Since headphones are essentially a pair of small, head-mounted Speaker, DALI’s IO models are your personal set of portable hi-fi sound converters that let you take authentic DALI sound with you wherever you go.

NOISE SUPPRESSION

The DALI IO-6 is a closed headphone, which already isolates ambient noise to a high degree by the contact of the ear pads. However, since low-frequency noise cannot be kept out in this way, the DALI IO-6 is equipped with state-of-the-art active noise cancellation (ANC).

Three different ANC modes can be selected via a button on the right ear cup: ANC on, ANC off and a transparency mode.

With active noise cancellation switched on, the IO-6 actively minimizes low-frequency noises, such as those that occur on airplanes, trains or buses.

If ANC is deactivated, ambient noise is only passively blocked by the ear pads.

In transparency mode, the headphones allow ambient noise to pass through to a certain extent and mix it into the audio signal. In this way, for example, announcements on the platform, conversations or other ambient noise can be easily followed despite the headphones being on.

When listening with active noise cancellation, you are not only completely isolated from distracting ambient noise, you also hear the music in a much more relaxed and detailed way. In addition, the playback volume can be reduced, which reduces the potential for long-term hearing damage. Whether at home or on the road, DALI’s IO-6 takes you to a whole new dimension of music listening.

WEARING COMFORT & DESIGN

The stylish DALI IO-6 headphones are ergonomically designed to fit comfortably and securely on any head. The ear cushions are made of a memory foam that naturally conforms to the head, not only keeping the headphones perfectly in place, but also acoustically sealing them from the outside world to create consistent acoustic conditions.

When developing the DALI IO-6, the specifications included keeping the weight as low as possible so that the headphones can be worn over a longer period of time without any problems. Each individual component has been carefully selected for its weight without compromising quality or durability.

To ensure that the headphones meet all the challenges of mobile life in addition to operation at home on the sofa, they are protected against dust and splash water according to IP53 certification. And since the ear cups can be rotated 90 degrees in either direction, the headphones can be folded flat and stored compactly or hung conveniently around the neck.

LONG BATTERY LIFE

Listening to music for days without recharging – the DALI development engineers also had this specification in mind during their work. A powerful 1100 mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 30 hours of runtime. Such a long battery life guarantees the freedom of not having to worry about an impending end of power supply.

So that you always know what power reserves the battery still has, the IO-6 reports the current charge status of the battery with a voice message every time it is switched on. In addition, the battery status is also visually indicated by two multicolored LEDs on the right ear cup.

And even when power is no longer available, the IO-6’s passive mode keeps the music alive. Then simply connect the headphones to your audio device via the included mini-jack cable and let the DALI IO-6 run in “Off” mode.
