Grado SR80X
The new classic
The first Grado headphones, the legendary pair that started it all.
Worthy sound
The story of the SR80x holds a special place in the ears of hundreds of thousands of listeners. The first pair was built in 1991. With its soundstage, world-renowned midrange and speed, the SR80x is worthy of being the longest running Grado headphone.
Signature sound
Grado speakers can reveal new notes and details in songs heard hundreds of times. The interaction of driver and cabinet responds to sound vibrations and virtually eliminates transient distortion. Full-bodied vocals and excellent dynamics complement the musical qualities brought out by the SR80x’s extreme clarity and wide range.
X-Series drivers
The 4th generation Grado drivers are here. This new speaker design has been tuned specifically for the SR80x and features a stronger magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for the 44mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.
New cables & headband
Along with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the SR80x. The 4-wire cable is now housed in a more durable exterior and features a copper wire for improved audio signal purity. The new headband offers more padding for a more comfortable feel.
Hand assembled in Brooklyn
Grado Labs was founded on a kitchen table in 1953 and has been perfecting the art of sound reproduction every day since. This SR80x has traveled from workbench to workbench until it is ready for your ears. All the experiences since that kitchen table have led to the development of the SR80x.
