The absorber technology of the HD 800 S
The HD 800 S’s improved sound reproduction is achieved through the use of an innovative absorber technology first used in the Sennheiser IE 800. This technology represents a real breakthrough because it preserves the perceptibility of very high frequencies by eliminating a phenomenon known as the “masking effect”. This effect refers to the difficulty of human hearing to perceive high frequencies when they reach the ear simultaneously with lower frequencies of greater volume. By absorbing the energy of the resulting resonances, Sennheiser’s patented absorber technology prevents the occurrence of unwanted level peaks. In this way, all frequency ranges of the music remain perceptible – down to the finest nuance. This innovation was the deciding factor in making the IE 800 the best-sounding in-ear headphones in the world. In the HD 800 S, it provides even more sound purity and precision.
Natural and spatial listening experience
These improvements are made audible by the superb 56mm transducers – the largest ever used in a dynamic headphone. The unique shape of the ear cups directs sound waves into the auditory canal at a slight angle for an impressively natural and spatial listening experience.
