AVM MA30.3
Overview
Like all devices from the AVM 30.3 series, the MA 30.3 mono power amplifiers refer to a legendary predecessor, the M3. The M3 Class A/AB mono power amplifiers of that time are still considered one of the tonal highlights in amplifier design – worldwide.
It all started in the mid-eighties with developments that eventually led to the M1 and the founding of AVM in 1986. The M3 then replaced the M1 in the early 1990s and was built in various evolutionary stages until 2011. To this day, these excellent-sounding power amplifiers are the most widely built mono power amplifiers from AVM. The MA 30.3 is now the 14th generation of the famous AVM power amplifiers – this evolutionary stage incorporates all the experience gained since 1986.
Excellent sound performance
The AVM MA 30.3 also inherits a great sonic legacy.
The M3 provided the template for its modern descendant, the MA 30.3. Essential features such as the design of the MOS-FET output stages around the colossal main transformer have been retained and supplemented with contemporary features such as intelligent remote switching. Likewise, in the circuit design of the AVM MA 30.3, far-reaching innovations from the award-winning large AVM power amplifiers of the OVATION series have been incorporated.
These innovations are made possible by the use of state-of-the-art components such as those found in our flagship power amplifiers, the SA & MA 8.3. All in all, this resulted in new and ultra-modern mono power amplifiers that play at the very highest level in terms of sound.
Modern and stable
All functions of the MA 30.3 are automated (protection circuit etc.). In addition, there are extensive setting options with which the switch-on modes can be selected (automatic, trigger, permanent on). With the AIR (AVM Intelligent Remote) function, the power amplifiers can be easily switched on and off from current AVM preamplifiers (e.g. PA 30.3, PA 8.3 etc.) without the need for a separt trigger cable. The required control signal is simply transmitted via the RCA or XLR cable.
The perfectly finished cabinet made of painted sheet steel provides the stable base to safely support the enormous main transformers and the sensitive Electronic. The brushed aluminum front borrows from both current devices of the EVOLUTION series, as well as the AVM Ur-Monos. Standard cases are silver and black.
The new AVM 30.3 series will debut in the fall of 2020. Like all AVM devices, the MA 30.3 has been completely developed in AVM’s noble manufactory in Malsch, Germany, to transfer the latest circuitry methods of the award-winning components from the OVATION and EVOLUTION series adapted to the AVM 30.3 series. Repeated, intensive quality controls during all manufacturing steps and a break-in period of several days for each individual device ensure AVM’s promise of maximum reliability in the long term.
