NAD M12
DirectDigital – fully digital amplifier
DirectDigital – amplifiers use the patented DDFA technology and operate digitally throughout from input to output. The digital data stream is only converted into analog electrical currents directly before the Speakeracks. In this way, a noise-to-voltage ratio of a sensational 125 dB is achieved – a value that is far above that of other high-quality amplifiers and means that no noise rustling occurs at all. In addition, digital negative feedback ensures that the output signal corresponds exactly to the input signal.
Digital and analog connections
The M12 has numerous connections. Besides AES/EBU inputs, asynchronous USB ports with up to 24 bit/192 kHz resolution, coaxial and optical digital inputs as well as balanced as well as RCA high-level inputs, even a powerful MC/MM phono stage is integrated. The included remote controls all functions, while connections for IR repeaters, 12 V triggers, and a serial interface enable the integration of advanced control systems.
Numerous expansion options
Due to its tremendous processing power and high-resolution signal path, the M12 also incorporates some interesting features to further perfect the listening experience. Want to add a subwoofer to your system? The M12 includes a second order high and low pass crossover with selectable crossover frequency. You can even select different frequency responses for each filter. This flexibility and precision is made possible by our advanced DirectDigital architecture.
MDC – Future-proof modular system
MDC, short for Modular Design Construction, is NAD’s measure against hi-fi systems that are becoming obsolete too quickly. In particular, the technologies for A/V equipment are developing faster and faster in the last decades. As a result, home cinema who want to take advantage of new file formats, higher bandwidth High Speed HDMI connections, or additional height channels for surround playback like Dolby Atmos® are forced to replace their A/V receiver or amplifier on a regular basis. NAD’s MDC principle is to integrate all age-sensitive technologies on a high-quality plug-in card that can be quickly and easily exchanged for a newer version by a qualified technician. In addition, the MDC modules allow individual assembly of the corresponding NAD amplifiers.
MQA – Music in studio master quality
MQA is not a new file format, but an innovative way to package large music files with a complex encoding, an efficient compression technique and a digital signature in such a way that even original studio master recordings in 24 bit/ 192 kHz format can be packaged in comparatively small data packages and made available online. For this purpose, the music data is packaged in arbitrary containers such as ALAC, FLAC or WAV. When playing back via a decoder integrated in BluOS, the player unpacks the file completely again and returns it to its original format, the studio master file, without any losses.
BluOS Multiroom Streaming in HD Quality
BluOS is an innovative wireless system that allows you to stream music throughout your home. The associated user interface is one of the few solutions in the world to stream uncompressed high-resolution 24 bit / 192 kHz music data to the players integrated in the network. In this case, BluOS uses only the local network for the transfer of music and the organization of the platform and is controlled with the BluOS app available for smartphones and tablets or a Windows or Mac computer. Since BluOS is multiroom capable, up to 64 zones can be integrated and controlled either synchronously with an audio stream or individually with different programs at different volumes. Bluesound understands numerous file formats from MP3 to MQA Studio Master quality. Whether streaming music services, your own music library on a hard drive or Internet radio with BluOS you always have access to your favorite music throughout the network.
By the way, BluOS can also be integrated into some innovative home automation systems, so that then, in addition to the intelligent control of lighting, heating and other home technology, it is also possible to operate a BluOS Multiroom system via the Smart Home panel. The driver software for the systems of the manufacturers Control4, Creston, ELAN, iPort, Lutron, Push, RTI and URC is available for download above in the sub-navigation under the tab Smarthome Integration.
