YAMAHA CD-S303

Designed for pleasant sound quality
The CD-S303 CD player inherits the tonalcharacteristics of high-quality CD player components and provides excellent sound quality for music lovers. In addition to CDs, music files can also be played from USB storage devices via a USB port on the front.
Pure Direct-Schaltung
The Pure Direct circuitry proven in Yamaha amplifiers and receivers is also used in the CD-S303. Pressing the button on the front panel or on the remote control turns off the digital audio output and the display. In this way, noise is reduced to a minimum and the sound quality of the analog audio output is optimized.
Sophisticated circuits in a refined arrangement
Yamaha engineers have spared no time or effort in arranging the parts and circuit boards inside the unit to optimize sound quality. For example, the power supplies for the motor drive, display, and USB operation, as well as for the digital and analog parts, were isolated from each other to eliminate electromagnetic interference. The drive mechanism is located in the center of the unit for ideal weight distribution and thus balanced performance.
Short signal paths
The strictly logical and symmetrical internal arrangement of parts and boards serves to keep signal paths on the individual boards as short as possible. This purposeful design also ensures short, straight signal paths between components, minimizing the risk of signal loss or interference – an engineering feat we can be proud of.
Well matched, high quality parts
Every single part of a CD player influences the sound quality. Yamaha takes the utmost care in selecting and matching parts and materials. A high-quality acoustic capacitor, a new low-noise OP amplifier with high amplification power, and the use of damping material under the transformer and around the signal cables are just a few examples of Yamaha’s optimization of sound quality. The refined interior of the CD-S303 reaches a level that can compete with much more expensive models.
Powerful D/A converter
The powerful D/A conversion system includes a 192 kHz/24-bit D/A converter and takes full advantage of digital technology that Yamaha has refined and optimized over a period of many years. This provides extremely precise conversion, excellent signal-to-noise ratio, and first-class dynamic range.
