PAIR PRODUCTION

Speakers used in pairs should also be manufactured in pairs. In our production, the speakers are therefore manufactured one after the other by a single technician – using components taken in the same order from the same batch. Thus, each delivered pair of speakers fits acoustically perfect to each other.

MADE IN DENMARK FROM DANKS

The OPTICON MK2 series is manufactured at DALI in Denmark. In our in-house woodworking shop, the MDF boards are cut, milled, surface-finished and assembled. The drivers and crossovers are also assembled in our own production lines.

BASS REFLEX SYSTEM

To avoid turbulence with audible distortion and flow noise, both ends of the reflex tubes of the new OPTICON MK2 dual-flare technology are shaped like a funnel. Thus, the sound with an optimal airflow velocity to the outside, taking into account the pipe diameter and tuning frequency.

SMC TECHNOLOGY

The SMC magnet material used in the magnet systems of the OPTICON MK2 woofers and midrange drivers is characterized by very high magnetic permeability with extremely low electrical conductivity. This significantly reduces eddy currents in the pole piece of the magnet system caused by the movement of the voice coil.

DESCRIPTION

The OPTICON 1 MK2 is a compact loudspeaker that can be placed close to a wall or hung directly on the wall. The mid-bass driver features a 120 mm (4 3/4″) wood-fiber cone and a drive unit equipped with SMC magnets. The newly developed fabric dome tweeter has a diameter of 29 mm and is based on the tweeter of our CALLISTO speaker series. The dual-flare bass reflex tube, funneled on both sides, allows the OPTICON 1 MK2’s 5-liter enclosure to deliver remarkable bass response for its size, perfectly tuned for midrange and treble.

The OPTICON 1 MK2 is available in white matt, black ash and tobacco oak case and should be placed either on a stand, on a shelf, on a sideboard or directly on the wall. Included is an easy-to-mount wall mount that fits the keyhole slot on the case.
