Activation

The A1 has a fully automatic start/stop, with the automatic system completely decoupled during the entire running time of the plate. The fully mechanical automatic is activated when you press Start, and the tone arm is automatically moved to the record’s guide groove. Once played, the automatic is disengaged and does not affect the playback quality.

ULM aluminum tonearm

The A1 features an ultra-lightweight 8.3-inch aluminum tonearm. Together with the Ortofon OM10, which perfectly matches this design principle, we get an exceptionally fast response and detail in terms of transients and microdynamics. Tracking force and anti-skating are preset at the factory, making the A1 plug & play ready for use within seconds. This makes it perfect for vinyl beginners and experienced listeners alike, as the sound quality is carried by all the audiophile features the A1 has to offer.

Ortofon OM10 – Detailed Response & Microdynamics

A little known fact is that the OM series has its development roots and legacy in ultra-lightweight tonearm designs. Pre-assembled and adjusted in our factory, it is the perfect partner for your A1.

New headshell – carbon reinforced

The headshell is made of carbon fiber reinforced polymer which is super strong and stiff while keeping the weight super low. The composite material results in excellent internal damping of resonances.

Wooden chassis – Heavy and few cavities

The chassis offers just enough space to precisely accommodate the entire inner workings of the A1 & thus avoids voids. Thus, the high mass of the chassis reduces unwanted resonances to a minimum.

Turntable – Made of aluminum & damped

The damping ring on the inside increases the weight and reduces resonances. In the final step, the platter is rotated and precisely balanced to maintain its fine edges and minimal wow and flutter.

Connect it E – Semi-balanced RCA cable

To ensure a perfect connection to your amplifier, we use a high quality phono RCA cable. Our Connect it E is a semi-balanced cable with low capacitance and excellent shielding.

Phono preamp – Built-in switchable preamp

If you don’t have a phono preamp in your current HiFi setup, you’ll benefit from the A1’s built-in one. If you want to use another phono preamplifier, you can simply turn it off.

33/45 rpm – Ready for singles & LPs

The belt position does not need to be changed. Easily change the speed with just one touch of a button and listen to your favorite LPs as well as singles.

Automat Line – Handmade in Germany

The A1 is completely handmade in Germany and looks back on decades of experience. Coupled with Pro-Ject technology, it sets new standards in automatic turntable design.
