The completely newly developed high-tech dome with 25 mm special membrane was adopted from the ST 20, but the 150 mm long-throw woofer was modified, because the R 20 is a classic two-way design and therefore the midrange is transmitted with from the woofer. It gives the R 20 an enormous low bass and a very natural, lively sound image despite its relatively small Gehäuse. The R 20 sounds much bigger than it actually is!
A key design feature of the new Pulsar loudspeakers is the absolutely smooth baffle without corners or edges. No screws or heels interfere with sound propagation or create reflections. The baskets of the chassis are covered with precisely formed rings of die-cast aluminum and fit smoothly into the baffle. This enormous effort leads to the fact that the sound can spread perfectly and the sound image is completely detached from the speaker. The result is an incredibly precise and spatial reproduction with pinpoint accuracy.
