"B&W has hit the bull's eye with the 804 D4. Voices as well as instruments have a tangibly realistic body and excellent spatial imaging. The timing is nothing short of ingenious. The Diamond tweeter now blends seamlessly into the sound image. This is how high-end works - definitely listen to it."

Important notes:

Care in placement leads to perfect reproduction. More wall distance creates a more plastic stage. 70cm or more should be up to the baffle. By angling in toward the listener, one gains depth and believably sets up the performer's body.

The new 804 D4 features a downward radiating flowport and a solid aluminum base with a damped steel insert that minimizes unwanted resonances. Extensively improved spikes provide maximum stability.

Inverted design

When it came to designing the ideal shape for the 800 Series Diamond, Bowers & Wilkins did an about-face – literally. The Gehäuse have a continuous curved design that is enhanced by a solid aluminum back, so sound dispersion is improved and reflection of cabinet is reduced.

Classic quality

The 804 D4 may look more ordinary than the other floorstanding speakers in the 800 Series Diamond, but it is in no way inferior to those models. The new inverted cabinet is a revolution in its class, both mechanically and acoustically, while the new base ensures rock-solid, accurate bass response.

Sound with brains

The 804 D4 is the entry-level floorstanding loudspeaker model of the 800 Series Diamond. The 803 D4, on the other hand, features larger bass drivers (180 mm/7 inches) and, most importantly, an attached Turbine™ Head enclosure for the midrange cone (130 mm/5 inches), which adds even more intense spaciousness to the sound.

Aluminum cover plate

Each stereo model in the new 800 Series Diamond features a comprehensively optimized cabinet with an all-new aluminum top plate. A fine Connolly leather cover – in sophisticated black for dark Gehäuse, in light gray for lighter finishes – adorns the surfaces.
