Aluminum Top Cover

With the new TD 402 DD, Thorens presents for the first time a superbly equipped direct-drive turntable with limit switching. The high-quality look of the TD 402 DD is emphasized by the frame made of solid MDF, which is available in high-gloss black and high-gloss walnut, and a top panel made of brushed aluminum. The cushioning feet are black / silver. An acrylic hood is included in the scope of delivery. Within this price range, the TD 402 DD is unique due to its drive.

“Auto Start” and “Auto Stop” function

From the design based on the famous series of the past, the TD 402 DD is a completely new design. In addition to the direct drive, the TD402DD brings an “Auto Start” and “Auto Stop” function. This allows you to forget about the record from time to time and the turntable will automatically turn off by itself at the end of the listening pleasure.

Connection diversity through integrated phono preamplifier

In addition, the TD402DD is equipped with damped, ultra-low resonance platters, the new TP 72 tonearm with carbon tube and a replaceable headshell. An integrated, disconnectable MM phono preamplifier allows direct connection to a “line” input of the amplifier even if your hi-fi system does not have a phono input. A pre-installed MM cartridge from Audio-Technica (AT VM95 E) is also included.

The Thorens TD 402 DD joins the recently introduced belt-driven TD 201 and TD 202 models and rounds out the top end of the range of well-equipped, high-quality turntable, with a very good price/performance ratio. Available in high gloss black or high gloss walnut.
