These compact speakers have been creating a stir with their performance for more than 40 years. The smallest member of the Focus family will send it skyward again. Focus 10 is more than just a pair of powered speakers. It’s a complete music system, packed with the technology that has helped Dynaudio achieve legendary status – coupled with the most advanced wireless features we can imagine. And we have thought of many things.

A new way of listening

“Active” does not mean a single amplifier per speaker. This means a single amplifier per driver . For Focus 10, that means two each. Why an amplifier for each individual tweeter and woofer? Because that gives more control over their performance. And that means every driver sounds as good as it possibly can, without compromise.

Everything is kept in check with sophisticated DSP (digital signal processing) technology. It has taken all the lessons learned from developing our award-winning Focus XD, Xeo, LYD and Core product lines and created a system that is as effective as it is easy to use. Tell the speakers where they are in your room (near a wall, in a corner, or in open space) by selecting the appropriate option in the Dynaudio app, and they will optimize their performance for that position. If you want to dive deeper into calibration, there’s optional Dirac Live technology for fully customized results.

Classic Dynaudio drivers

The drivers themselves are as impressive as the technology that feeds them.

A 28 mm Cerotar soft dome tweeter sits at the top. It uses techniques and materials developed during the development of the acclaimed Confidence, Special Forty and Core series – including the Hexis inner dome (which sits directly under the diaphragm and refines the airflow behind the playing surface to smooth the frequency response and reduce unwanted resonance). The optimized magnet system uses a strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic design to increase the tweeter’s sensitivity – bringing incredible detail and sweet, natural treble response. This means extremely low listener fatigue … which means you can listen longer. Always a good thing.

The 14 cm Esotec+ mid/bass driver is the best Dynaudio has ever developed in a speaker this size. They developed it with the experience gained from the development of the new Contour series – so pedigree is an understatement. Its new surround and improved magnet system create an extended throw that extends frequency response at lower frequencies while maintaining its outstanding midrange performance. And because the box is closed, we were able to extend this low-frequency power deep into the pants.
