MusicCast expands entertainment options
MusicCast uses a powerful wireless network to deliver music and audio enjoyment. It can transfer digital music content from your smartphone, PC or NAS to other MusicCast devices in your home.
In addition, music can be shared from external devices, such as a TV or Blu-ray Disc™ player connected to the WXC-50. Audio content from Bluetooth®-connected smartphones or tablets can also be streamed to MusicCast devices in multiple rooms.

The WXC-50 is compatible with all types of music sources and services, such as streaming services. With multiple connection options for TVs, CD players, computers, and other AV devices, you can enjoy music from around the world in your home with just one component.
Transmission via Bluetooth® or AirPlay®
You can listen to all music sources from your smartphone via wireless Bluetooth or AirPlay connection. You can play music from music apps, radio apps, or video hosting services like YouTube™.
Intuitive furnishing with your smartphone or tablet
Use your smartphone or tablet with the MusicCast Controller app to set up speaker and make other adjustments. The app also serves as a remote control for all MusicCast components
Playback at the touch of a button
Pressing any button on the front panel turns the unit on and starts playback of the previously selected source. Quick and easy access to your favorite music.
Six preset buttons on the remote control
Set the six numbered buttons on the remote to your favorite network or USB sources, such as Internet radio stations, NAS or USB stick albums or songs, and then simply press a button to instantly listen to that station or song.

Thanks to Yamaha’s superior sound processing technologies, you’ll enjoy great sound from all your music sources – regardless of their quality, your listening environment, or the type of speaker you use. If you listen to audio from smartphones or other compressed sources, Compressed Music Enhancer improves the sound in all frequency ranges.
The volume adaptive EQ automatically adjusts the balance between bass and treble to the volume level. Advanced Bass Extension provides deeper, powerfulsound in the low end – ideal for compact or in-wall speakers. And in Direct mode, you can play back high-resolution audio sources as they are – without any processing.
High-quality technologies for first-class sound
The WXC-50 benefits from Yamaha’s advanced audio technologies and circuit designs. The preamp circuitry, for example, minimizes digital jitter and uses the same powerful ESS DAC found in high-end AV receivers. Yamaha’s proprietary power supply grounding configuration, called DAC on Pure Ground, ensures that the power supply does not affect sound quality.
The 48-bit digital volume control provides much higher precision and quality than conventional digital or analog controls. In addition, a high-strength metal cabinet provides the stability needed for powerful, clear music playback.
Supports DSD 5.6 MHz and FLAC / WAV / AIFF 192 kHz / 24-bit for high-resolution reproduction
The WXC-50 supports a wide range of high-resolution formats, including DSD 5.6 MHz, FLAC and WAV, AIFF 192 kHz / 24-bit, and ALAC (Apple Lossless) 96 kHz / 24-bit for iTunes. Whether from a music download site or music streaming services, you can enjoy the full benefits of high-resolution sound sources and feel like you’re right in a concert hall.
Player mode
If you want to adjust the volume through the Hi-Fi amplifier or AV receiver, you can turn off the PRE AMP mode of the WXC-50 and use the unit as a simple network audio player. Switching to Player mode bypasses volume and any processing for direct playback of High-Resolution Audio.
Low power consumption
The WXC-50 consumes less than two watts in standby mode and a low 5 W when powered on, and even with extended use, power consumption is environmentally friendly. In addition, you can save energy with the automatic shut-off function by having the device turn off automatically after 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours.
