Collection: collection of old devices
What is the purpose of collecting old equipment
Taking old devices with you helps us all to protect the environment! With the updated Electrical Equipment Act, you can now also hand in small old electrical devices to us free of charge. You can simply bring them to our branch and we will take care of the proper disposal for you. This is the only way to recycle as many important resources and raw materials as possible.
For large devices, we ask you to fill out the form below and send it back to us. This is the only way we can arrange a pick-up date for you with one of our shipping service providers if the goods cannot be sent as a parcel. Alternatively, you will receive a return label for free shipping of the old device.
If the return also involves storage media such as hard drives or memory cards, make sure that all private data is completely deleted. The Federal Ministry for Information Security provides information on the correct procedure here .
The procedure for returning old devices
- Download the form, print it out or fill it out digitally.
- Send the form by email to online.da@hifi-profis.de.
Further information on the collection of old devices
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (i.e. equipment designed to operate with an alternating voltage of no more than 1,000 volts or a direct voltage of no more than 1,500 volts, which depends on electrical currents or electromagnetic fields for its proper operation, or which is used to generate, transmit or measure electrical currents and electromagnetic fields) must not be disposed of in normal household waste, but must be collected separately.
Used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the old device must be separated before being handed over to a collection point as described below, unless the old devices are separated from other old devices in accordance with Section 14 Paragraph 5 Sentence 2, Sentence 3 of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act within the scope of the option by the public waste disposal authorities for the purpose of preparing them for recycling in order to prepare them for recycling.
The symbol in Annex 3 to the Electrical Equipment Act can be used to identify old devices that must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. The symbol represents a crossed-out wheeled waste bin.
For this purpose, we have set up positions for you under which you can
- Small appliances that are no larger than 25cm in any external dimension can be returned free of charge even if you have not purchased a new appliance,
- You can hand in large appliances for disposal if you have previously or at the same time bought a new electrical or electronic appliance of the same type that has essentially the same functions as the new appliance (example: you buy a new television and can hand in your old television in return).
Owners of old devices can also hand them in using the return or collection options set up and available by public waste disposal authorities to ensure that the old devices are disposed of properly. If necessary, electrical and electronic devices can also be handed in there for the purpose of reusing the devices. You can obtain more information about this from the relevant collection or return point.
